Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar has sparked concern on social media after she posted an emotional video of her in tears.
In a video posted on her Instagram page on June 5, the actress broke down in tears while recounting her ordeal to her fans and expressed gratitude to God for seeing her though her ordeal.
She said she does not wish for anyone to go through her experience as it is not something she wish to share.
“What I have been through, only me can say it. I just want to use this opportunity to thank all those who have been there for me. Those ones that did not criticize or judge me because it can be anyone,” she stated.
“What I have seen in my life is not something that I can share…I’m not here for pity-patty. I’m just here to say God is Good, God has saved me…To those who have been there, I say God bless you and enrich you” she noted amidst tears.
According to her, although her experience felt like a punishment from the devil, she attributed her survival to divine intervention, saying that God kept her alive and used the experience to teach her important lessons.
In April this year, Halima Abubakar was slapped with a N10m defamation suit by the Federal Court in Nigeria.
The defamation lawsuit was filed by popular Nigerian pastor, Apostle Johnson Suleman who had claimed that the actress made some derogatory remarks against him.
After two years of trial, Halima asked to pay N10m in damages to Apostle Suleman for some derogatory comments she made against him in 2022.
The actress was also demanded to publicly apologise to Apostle Suleman for tarnishing his image.
Per court documents, Halima Abubakar accused the cleric through her Instagram channel of being a ‘womaniser’ and a ‘diabolic man’, among others.
