A member of the Pensioner Bond holders Forum has lamented the emotional torture he has been going through ever since his investment got locked up.
Lawrence Kwaw Sam said he does not understand what is going on as the situation is affecting his relationship with members of his extended family.
Speaking in an interview the distraught Sam said, “I’d wanted to establish a job in my hometown after retirement and that is why I invested, but after 4 years of pension I can’t even go to my hometown.”
He stated that, “even when I go I hide until I leave, because all the promises and the assurances I gave my people I couldn’t fulfill them”.
Lawrence made statement on 5th June at the precincts of the Finance Ministry when he and his colleagues picketed at the Ministry to demand their locked-up funds.
After the picketing, officials of the Ministry had a brief meeting with Dr. Adu Anane Antwi who is the convenor and some members of the Forum.
After the meeting, Dr Anane Antwi made it clear to the media that, “we met two people which I know they are part of the directors and they said Finance Minister and his Deputy are not around, but we will tell them and if possible, we will call for meeting before next week Wednesday.”
Adu Anane added that, “if we do not hear anything, we’ll still come here every Wednesday until they release our locked-up funds for us.”
