Great Olympics assistant coach Orlando Wellington says they are hopeful of turning their season around before the end of the campaign despite their persistent struggles.
The Wonder club had a good start to the season after matchday six and found themselves in the top four with huge hopes at the start of the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League.
However, their performances have dwindled with a lack of consistency and attacking efficiency as a problem in their lockers.
Despite their longstanding reputation in Ghana football, Oly Dade hover around the danger zone with goal difference and an outstanding match the only lifeline.
They need an instant change or improvement in results to turn their fortunes around.
Orlando Wellington is however positive that as there are six games left to the end of the campaign, Oly Dade will rise again and not just finish strong on the standings, but potentially return to Africa to represent Ghana just like Medeama SC and Dreams FC have done in the coming years.
“My observation is that it is difficult and we are trying to put things together to finish in a good position before the end of the league because clubs are playing, a lot of them, and it’s not just about Hearts of Oak.
“Sure, sure that is the agenda of everybody in the Olympics. You know that when you qualify and go to Africa you grow wings and you get branches outside Ghana and that’s a good goal”, he told 3sports.
Currently, Olympics are dangerously close to the relegation zone. However, a series of consistent victories could bring them within reach of the top four, as they are only 10 points away from that position.
Their objective will be to take the lessons learned from this campaign and apply them in the 2024/2025 season, with the potential to mount a stronger challenge for the title.
