Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah has rewarded Seidu Rafiwu with an amount of GH?10,000 for his remarkable record attempt for the longest distance covered by foot.
Rafiwu successfully completed his 381km walk-a-thon on Tuesday, April 30 after 96 hours of walking from Techiman to Accra.

In a viral video shared on X, the MP is seen presenting the cash in a white envelope to Seidu Rafiwu and commended him for embarking on such record attempt.
“I should thank the team, you have done well. To say you are taking a walk from Techiman to Accra day and night, you must be courageous…you have done well,” he said in a interaction with Rafiwu and his team.

Rafiwu embarked on his attempt from Saturday, April 27 and completed the 383 km walk journey in 96 hours from Techiman to Accra.
He ended his record attempt on Tuesday April 30 at the Independence square in Osu, Accra.
The current walking marathon record was set by America’s Jesse Casteneda in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, on September 1976 after walking for 228.930 kilometres.
Earlier, there were reports that Rafiwu collapsed while attempting the record upon reaching the Konongo township but he later debunked the rumours.
Rafiwu added that the video inundated on social media was of a moment during his scheduled recovery session conducted by the medical team
