Chief of Akyem Aduasa in the Birim South District of Eastern Region Osabarima Abrokwah Gyampem IV has charged students to take their studies seriously if they must become successful in life.
He has implored the youth to give top priority to their education by taking advantage of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy to make themselves productive in future.
Osabarima Abrokwah Gyampem IV, who was speaking at a durbar to climax the Ohum festival at Akyem Aduasa, strongly challenged the youth to be disciplined and law-abiding to enable them achieve their aspirations in becoming better people in society.
He similarly urged parents to morally train their children to be self-reliant which would broaden their horizon and accelerate the pace of their development.
The chief expounded that Free SHS should mark an end to the era of the youth dropping out of school because of non-payment of fees.
“I am urging the youth in this community to take advantage of the Free Senior High School policy because education and learning are among the most important pursuits in life.
“It should end the era of depending on your parents or family members because of the fact that they have cocoa farms and other properties,” the chief stressed.
Nana thus pledged to support the public schools in the community with logistics to enhance teaching and learning whereas placing a clarion call to the teachers to endeavour to demonstrate their commitment in making school attractive to the youth.
