AZ Alkmaar forward Ibrahim Sadiq has won the December Goal of the Month award in the Netherlands.
The former Ghana U17 star's rocket against PEC Zwolle earned him the award after receiving the most votes from fans.
Sadiq powered the ball into the top corner after skillfully nutmegging his marker from 25 yards.
"What I remember about that goal is that, I was on the bench and when I came in, in my mind I was coming on to score so when I came I was like I have to score to help the team and make it a bit easier to go through," he said as he reflected the moment.
"So after the first half in the game, we were told to counter-press and I had that in my head and as soon as I saw Troy (Parrot) lose the ball, I was like let me counter-press and when I got the ball, I had to think so when the guy slide I just put the ball through his leg and I was like let me take my chance and shoot the ball. I was surprise.
"First of all when I shot the ball I thought it was going out and the ball went down and when it went into the top corner, I was like wow."
Sadiq has scored two goals in 13 matches in the Dutch league this season.
