Black Stars forward Inaki Williams and his wife Patricia Morales have welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Niko, a heartfelt nod to Inaki’s younger brother and teammate, Nico Williams.
The couple shared the happy news on Instagram with a tender photo of the newborn’s tiny foot and the date of his birth, 01/01/2026.
“Welcome to the world, Niko! Our family is growing and our hearts are overflowing with love. Thank you for so much in such a short time,” the Athletic striker wrote alongside the picture, revealing the emotion of the moment. The club also quickly joined in the congratulations, celebrating the arrival of “a new lion to the family” and sending a warm message to Iñaki and Patricia.
Williams rejoined training this Friday after missing New Year's to be present for the birth of his son, as Ernesto Valverde explained in a press conference. The Ghanaian international has been included in the squad for the LALIGA EA Sports match against Osasuna at El Sadar, where Athletic will close out the first half of the season.
In that same press conference, Valverde also addressed Iñaki's recent comments about the Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, in which the player described the situation as “a load of crap.” The coach asked for greater care with expressions, while acknowledging that these days are especially sensitive for the striker due to the arrival of his first child and the possibility of having to travel far away during such a special time for his family.
