AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine has officially unveiled a USD200,000 headline sponsorship agreement with Medeama Sporting Club for the 2025/2026 football season, marking a significant boost to the club’s commercial strength and long-term ambitions. The Tarkwa-based mining giant replaces Nguvu Mining as Medeama’s principal sponsor, ushering in a new partnership rooted in shared values of community development, empowerment and sustainable growth. The signing and official announcement took place at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa, capping a memorable occasion for the Mauve and Yellow, who defeated Hearts of Oak 1–0 to finish the first half of the Ghana Premier League season at the top of the table. Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Managing Director of AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine, Mr Daniel Boadi, described the partnership as a natural extension of the company’s core mission and purpose. “Simply put, this is our commitment to development and to empowering the people in our host communities,” Mr Boadi said. He further noted that the sponsorship aligns seamlessly with AngloGold Ashanti’s long-standing approach to community engagement and social investment. “We have always remained committed to the development and empowerment of our host communities, and this partnership with Medeama Sporting Club is a clear reflection of that commitment,” he added. The one-year agreement, which is renewable, makes AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine the headline sponsor of Medeama SC.
“Our single purpose is mining to empower people and to advance societies. What you see here today is part of that purpose — as simple as that.”
