Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani insisted his side did enough to claim maximum points after being held to a goalless draw by Aduana FC in Sunday’s Ghana Premier League clash.
The contest at Dormaa Ahenkro brought together two sides separated by three points before kickoff, and the narrow gap was evident in a tightly fought encounter.
Hearts showed greater intent for long spells, dictating tempo and spending extended periods in Aduana territory, but lacked the final touch to turn control into goals.
Aduana, disciplined and compact, relied on defensive organisation to blunt the Phobians’ pressure and protect their league-leading position.
Speaking after the match, Dramani felt the balance of play favoured his team.
“It’s a difficult ground, but we came here to contest the three points. I think we deserved all three points, not just a single point,” he said.
The Hearts coach highlighted his side’s tactical execution, adding: “I think we controlled their transitions and kept our game, our identity, in terms of our positional play and how we were able to press by not allowing them to play from the back.”
Despite dropping points at home, Aduana remain top of the standings with 28 points, although they have played two matches more than closest challengers Medeama SC.
Hearts of Oak, meanwhile, temporarily climb to fourth place on 25 points, maintaining pressure on the teams above them as the title race continues to tighten.
