Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Richard Ofori Agyemang, widely known as King Zuba has called for the sacking of Asante Kotoko head coach, Karim Zito, expressing his displeasure about the club’s performance since his arrival.
Zito joined the Porcupine Warriors half-way last season and managed to secure the Ghana FA Cup title, defeating lower-tier club Golden Kicks FC.
In the current campaign, the Porcupine Warriors has been inconsistent under the former Dreams FC tactician, recording just one win from their last five games in the Ghana Premier League.
Before beating Dreams FC last Sunday, the Ghanaian giants had gone four matches in the Premier League without recording a single win, losing two and drawing two across the period.
However, the Mayor of Kumasi, who is not impressed with the performance of Karim Zito has called for his sacking, while advocating for an experienced expatriate trainer to lead the team.
“I have not seen any significant improvement in Asante Kotoko since Karim Zito took over. For me, the club needs a fresh direction, and that should come from an experienced expatriate coach” he told Akoma FM in an interview.
After 14 matches into the campugn, the Ghanaian football heavyweights find themselves in the third position, accumulating 24 points.
