Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Udi Didi Dramani says his priority is resetting his players’ mentality as the Phobians prepare for Saturday’s Ghana Premier League clash with Nations FC.
The experienced coach is focused on lifting spirits and sharpening focus after a disappointing result last weekend.
Hearts return to the Legon Sports Stadium seeking a response following a 2-0 defeat away to Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
Nations FC arrive in Accra encouraged by a 2-1 comeback victory over Heart of Lions, a result that boosted their confidence before the week 14 contest.
Dramani said the emphasis this week has been psychological recovery rather than dwelling on the previous defeat.
“I think first of all is to see to the psyching of the team, to see to it that we are refocusing and resetting our mentality in terms of what is ahead of us in a marathon competition,” Dramani told Hearts TV.
“It means that every week is a new event and so it’s just an opportunity to resetting our mentality for what is in front of us.”
Hearts of Oak have collected 21 points from 13 matches, recording five wins, six draws and two defeats. They sit level on points with Asante Kotoko and Samartex as the title race begins to take shape.
At the top, Aduana FC moved clear on Friday after edging Heart of Lions to reach 27 points. Saturday’s 16:00 GMT kickoff at Legon offers Hearts a chance to steady their campaign and reassert their ambitions.
