The prestigious Mr. Ghana 2024 competition has concluded with the crowning of Richard Ouro-Tagba Kofi as the ultimate winner after a rigorous audition and selection process held at the Tang Place Hotel and other pre-selection contests, culminating into this big announcement!
Richard, along with the first and second runners-up, exemplifies the essence of modern Ghanaian manhood, characterised by ambition, community service and cultural pride.
Richard shall represent Ghana at the Mr. World competition, which will be held on 23rd November, 2024 in Vietnam. He is expected to arrive in Vietnam on 5th November ahead of the competition.
Richard Ouro-Tagba Kofi
Richard Ouro-Tagba Kofi, a 20-year-old graduate in Actuarial Science from the University of Ghana, stood out among the contestants for his dedication to fitness and personal development.
Fluent in multiple languages, including English, Twi, French and a bit of Russian, Richard has built a reputation as a personal trainer and gym instructor at Pippa’s Health Center. His passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals, combined with his disciplined approach, has made him a respected figure in the fitness community.
Richard’s long-term goal is to establish his own gym in Ghana, expanding his services to promote fitness nationwide. To this end, he aspires to pursue a Master’s degree in international business, equipping him with the necessary knowledge to grow his enterprise. Richard’s win is a testament to his hard work, vision and his inspiring message: “Your procrastination is nothing more than a declaration to God that you do not respect the time you are given because you believe that you will have more time to do it later”.
1st Runner-Up: Nyamekye Venunye Edu
The first runner-up, Nyamekye Venunye Edu, also 20, is a passionate advocate for Ghanaian culture and tradition. With a deep-rooted love for dance and performance, Nyamekye has pursued his cultural passion from a young age, serving in various leadership roles throughout his educational journey.
Currently working as a model and aspiring to become a fashion house Creative Director, Nyamekye’s vision extends to establishing a security and tech company in the future. His diverse interests also include small-scale vegetable farming, reflecting his commitment to sustainability and nature.
2nd Runner-Up: Godwin Opare-Nortey
Godwin Opare-Nortey, the second runner-up, is a 20-year-old nursing student at ENCEPHAL College of Health and Technology. Known for his multi-tasking abilities and positive mindset, Godwin is a strong advocate for gender equality and social inclusion.
His commitment to community service is evident in his sponsorship of the education of four children in rural areas. Godwin’s ambition is to continue inspiring others through his platform, whether by pursuing a career in the medical field, becoming an author or engaging in other forms of community outreach.
The Mr. Ghana 2024/Mr. World Ghana 2024 competition has once again highlighted the incredible talents and aspirations of Ghanaian youth. Richard Ouro-Tagba Kofi, along with Nyamekye Venunye Edu and Godwin Opare-Nortey, represents a new generation of Ghanaian men who are not only focused on personal success but also on making meaningful contributions to Ghana’s socio-cultural development.
