Parliament of Ghana has announced that the registration of Members of Parliament-elect (MPs-elect) for the incoming Parliament will begin on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
The process signifies a significant step towards the inauguration of the 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana.
According to a statement issued on 24 December 2024, the registration will begin with an online exercise, followed by a physical registration process from Thursday, 2 January, to Monday, 6 January 2025.
The statement further noted that targeted messages, including details for the online registration, would be sent to MPs-elect via WhatsApp or email. For the physical registration phase, MPs-elect can contact the designated officers for assistance or clarification on 055 022 2200 or 050 363 4466.
Additionally, Parliament has arranged transportation for MPs-elect, with buses departing from the premises of Parliament to Independence Square at 8:00 am sharp during the physical registration period.
This registration process forms part of preparations for the inauguration of the 9th Parliament.
