Hearts of Oak boss Aboubakar Ouattara has emphasised the need to acknowledge that regardless of any talent, every player has a limitation including the legendary Lionel Messi.
The experienced gaffer was addressing the media on Thursday, July 24, 2024, as the club continues its efforts to bounce back from its disappointment last season.
With reports suggesting that the club is set to beef up their squad as well as offload certain players, Ouattara said while the team aim to sign better players, they are aware of the imperfections.
“There is no player who is 100% perfect. If you know one mention his name and I’ll tell you one thing he can’t do. Including Messi, have you seen Messi cross the ball before? Everyone has their mistakes.”
Hearts of Oak finished 14th in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season while exiting the FA Cup in the early stages.

Their aim is to perform better next season with some key signing being made in the upcoming transfer window.
On plan for next season:
“We’re starting to get a team. We want to have a good team for next season and play well for the fans.”
“We don’t want to struggle and be close to the relegation zone. We want to do better than last season.”
The management of the club also declared openly a few days ago efforts to undergo a technical review as they continue their rebuilding phase.
