Gospel artiste, Celestine Donkor has encouraged female musicians to consider making their partners their managers.
He advocated for such a thing only if their partners show interest in the role of artiste management.
Celestine who is managed by her husband and married to him for 19 years said although it is very “complicated”, both can learn on the job to progress.
“From my experience, it is the best thing to happen to a female artiste. You need to first of all find out if your partner is first of all interested in doing it. If he is, even if that partnership is just 10 percent or 20 percent, I think you are good to go.
“You just need to consult, get information on what the job really entails and learn on the job. My husband and I we started from the scratch, he was into import and export and came full time into artiste management and so we have learned on the job which has helped us,” she told Giovani on Showbiz 360.
She emphasized that it presents a better opportunity for the partners to get to know each other more as they travel and consistently work on projects together.
