Nations FC head coach Frimpong Manso expressed his excitement about his team’s victory over Heart of Lions in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.
In the Week 13 fixture played at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Lions scored first, but the hosts scored twice to secure a 2-1 victory at full-time.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Nations FC coach Frimpong Manso admitted that it was a tough game against a very good opponent, but he always believed his side would earn all three points.
“It was a very difficult game. We knew this even before the beginning of the week that Lions are a good side, so it’s going to be difficult. Even when we were down, I believed we could turn things around, so for me, I didn’t give up after we conceded the first goal,” the coach said.
Manso further noted that he hopes that the victory against Lions will motivate his side to win more matches in the upcoming Ghana Premier League fixtures.
“This win will motivate us to fight. I know we will come back. Strongly. We only need something to step on to move forward. I believe this match can take us up there,” Coach Frimpong Manso added.
Following the win against Heart of Lions, Nations FC will now turn attention to the Week 14 fixture against Hearts of Oak, another crucial match that will pose a huge challenge next weekend.
