Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 Campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, is hopeful that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will assent to the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill 2024, also referred to as an anti-LGBTGQ bill.
He said the President has not shown any support for the controversial bill; for that matter, he believes that once the bill gets to the President, he will sign it.
Miracles Aboagye asked Ghanaians to be receptive to criticism of the bill, pointing out that since laws are imperfect, it is necessary to adjust them to better serve the needs of the nation.
“The President has never said he will not sign the bill. So I believe that he will sign it when it gets to him,” said Mr. Aboagye in an interview on Accra-based JoyNews.
