VRA spends $2.5m a day on power generation
The Volta River Authority has revealed it currently spends not less than $2 million per day, in generating power to meet the national demand. The Authority also incurs a cost of $50 million to purchase Light Crude Oil (LCO) to produce power which could last the nation for only 20 days, as a result of unavailability of liquefied petroleum gas
