Aduana Stars head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi has confirmed reports that his side has been hit by massive diarrhoea after reports that the they had been hit with food poisoning.
442gh.com had earlier reported that the Ghanaian champions have been dealt another massive blow ahead of their Confederation Cup clash with Moroccan side Raja Casablanca as the entire playing body is battling food poisoning.
This was after players of the troubled Ghanaian side ate kenkey and jollof carried by the management of the side to Morocco from Ghana.
An insider had disclosed to 442gh.com disclosed that some of the players ate jollof rice and shito with others taking kenkey and pepper with shito last night.
The news has just been confirmed by the head coach of the side who is worried about his squad for the game on Wednesday.
“Our players ate jollof rice last night; we brought it from Ghana, and many of them got running stomaches over night,” Kenichi said.
“We have only 11 players available who are without serious injuries. I hope we will have all 11 players on the pitch on the match day. This is an important match to play for all of us,” he added.
The food which was carried there by the Ghanaian side is believed to have over-lived it’s normal duration of existence hence subjecting the players to severe diarrhoea less than 24 hours to the game.
Already, the Ghanaian side has only 11 players without injury, 2 players with serious injuries and 1 player with malaria.
The woes of the side has, therefore, been deepened with agitations about the squad size that traveled to Morocco already.
Head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi had overly complained about the list of just 12 outfield players and two goalkeepers for the trip, and with the squad being hit with food poisoning, the Ghanaian side could face hell against the dreaded Moroccan giants on Wednesday.
Aduana Stars drew 3-3 with Raja Casablanca in the first leg of the game at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in Dormaa-Ahenkoro.
