The Ghana National Chamber of Licensed Banker to Banker Lotto Operators and Agents (GCLBBOA) is calling for the National Lottery Authority (NLA) to enforce the 1 million cedi licensing fee regime
The GCLBBOA was the first to pay its certification fees after the NLA gave an April deadline for all operators to complete their regulatory requirements.
The chamber is however unhappy some operators in the Banker to Banker lottery space have not paid their due and are demanding a reduction of the 1 million licensing fees.
Speaking in a press conference in Kumasi, its founder Frank Adjei indicated that the defaulting operators cannot complain about the fees that have been discussed and agreed on by all operators across the country.
Mr Adjei contended, “About nine operators met and put proposals before the NLA and the best bid was taken. This was not imposed on us by anyone so we don’t understand why the aggrieved operators are now agitating against the licensing fees.”
He called on the NLA not to extend the grace period for payment as per his view, this will amount to some injustice and unfair treatment against the operators who have agreed to, and paid up their licensing fees.
