The newly elected Ashanti regional first vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwabena Nsenkyire who doubles as the regional coordinator of NADMO and Assembly Member of Dekyemso electoral area has been summoned to appear before the office of the president.
Source from the presidency has disclosed that the presidency has received a tape recordings of the Ashanti regional NADMO boss accusing the presidency of sponsoring some defeated aspirants in the just ended regional executives elections held at Ejura Sekyere Odumasi constituency over the weekend with huge sums of money and goodies.
Chairman Nsenkyire on radio interviews after winning the first Chairmanship position alleged that some of the defeated candidates who were in the camp of the incumbent regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako also known as ‘Wontumi’, paid at least GHC3000 each to the 47 constituencies to influence the delegates to vote for their preferred candidates.
He further alleged that the office of the president has awarded oxygen supply contract at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) to Andy Owusu special aide to ‘Chairman Wontumi’ whiles the party foot soldiers have been neglected.
Ultimate News’ source at the presidency said, “The content of the interview is in bad taste and a threat to the image of the presidency and if we don’t stop him it will led as to opposition in the next general elections. Moreover, he is an elected first vice regional chairman of the party in our major stronghold and government official therefore we have to treat his interview with the serious attention,” the source said.
Ultimate News’ source added that, the meeting is expected to call the outspoken NADMO coordinator to order and offer him the opportunity to substantiate the allegations he made against the office of the president.
