A 19-year old student of St Mary’s Boys Secondary in Apowa in the Western Region has been arrested by the Kwesimintsim Police for robbing his mates at knife point.
The Kwesimintsim District Police Commander, Supt Peter Aidoo tells Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson the suspect, Michael Etti together with two other accomplices who are residents of Apowa in the Ahanta West Municipality laid ambush at night at one of the bushy entrances to the school and attacked his victims with knives and robbed them of various items including mobile phones, mathematical sets among others.
This was on the eve of the 2018 WASSCE.
The two accomplices aged between 20 and 21 were arrested on Thursday, and sent to court and have since been remanded in Prison custody.
Michael, who is a WASSCE candidate absconded and failed to show up for his first paper on Friday April 6, 2018 but was arrested by the police on Monday when he showed up to write the second paper.
He has since been remanded in police custody at Kwesimintsim.
The three will appear at a Takoradi Circuit court on Thursday, April 12, 2018.
