Sefwiman Nkosuo and Friends of Alfred Obeng Boateng in the Western region have issued a stern warning to NPP bigwigs who have been painting the Chief Executive Officer for the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), black.
According to them, the backbiting against Mr Obeng Boateng in order for the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to relieve him of his post following BOST contaminated fuel sale deal will not wash.
They threatened not to vote for the Akufo-Addo’s government in 2020 elections if Mr Obeng Boateng is sacked.
Addressing Journalists in Sefwi-Bekwai, a leading member of Sefwiman Nkosuo Nana Osei Joseph Okyere warned NPP backbiters to desist from their act or face the wrath of their gods saying they will not sit aloof whiles their son’s name is dragged in the mud.
He said the BOST CEO who is an indigene of Sefwi-Bekwai is clean of the accusations levelled against him and that he is only trying to protect BOST’s purse which some stomach members of the NPP are against.
Nana Joseph Okyere said the BOST CEO is a rich person who is not at BOST to acquire money in a dubious manner saying some people are jealous of his position hence the gossips.
He said BOST has been running effectively ever since Mr Obeng Boateng was appointed calling on NPP bigwigs and NDC members to stop levelling accusations against him.
‘We are not happy about the accusations levelled against our brother, Alfred Obeng Boateng. If the NPP gurus do not stop spreading falsehood about our son, they will incur the wrath of our gods. He heavily invested his money in the NPP during the 2016 general elections. If President Akufo-Addo, the chiefs, the Assin Central constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Kennedy Agyapong, Vice President Alhaji Dr Bawumia and the rest are all aware of his support to the NPP. He is a rich man, he wrote Approacher’s series, he’s at BOST to help build the nation and not to steal. The stomach politicians are not happy that he has blocked all the holes where they cannot steal, they are envious of his position,’ he pointed out.
The Executive Secretary for the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers, (COPEC- Ghana) Mr Duncan Amoah has accused the management of BOST for allegedly causing financial loss to the state in the sale of some barrels of the crude oil.
He claimed Ghana lost an estimated GHC30million in revenue when 1.8 million barrels of crude oil was sold to an “unlicensed company” BB Energy.
This follows a major corruption scandal that hit the Chamber in September last year after the sale of some five million litres of contaminated fuel to 38 unlicensed companies.
But according to Richard Osei Koranteng Secretary for Friends of Alfred Obeng Boateng, Mr Duncan’s allegations are baseless.
‘I will implore COPEC to remove Duncan Amoah, he is not good at the law at all. Duncan doesn’t understand the law of contract, we are saying that our brother (Alfred Obeng) followed due process on procurement, so he shouldn’t be sacked. President Akufo-Addo should maintain him, because since, we came to power, we have not exhausted the supply of oil and gas,’ he stated.
Meanwhile, Mr Obeng Boateng has sued Mr Duncan Amoah, over death threat allegations made against him.
This was after Mr Amoah had said that his life was in danger after he uncovered the alleged shady deal at BOST.
