A 10-year old class 3 pupil has died of suffocation after he was trapped in a locked car for about 10 hours at Akyem New Tafo in the Eastern Region.
The incident occurred Monday March 19, 2018.
The body of the deceased identified as Odei Adarkwa Alex has been deposited at Akyem Tafo Government Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Police have arrested the driver of the car to assist in investigation.
Information gathered by Ultimate News’ Kojo Ansah indicates that, the deceased, a pupil of ‘Feeding Preparatory School’ was reportedly sacked over GHC20 fee debt, hence returned home in the morning to collect the money from his parents.
A neighbor now in the grips of Police who was driving to town was requested to drop the deceased in school, but surprisingly, the driver ‘locked’ him, reportedly parked the car and joined a commercial vehicle to visit his sick child who was on admission at the Regional Hospital-Koforidua.
A family member, Ofori Boadu, told Ultimate News the family is scandalized about the incident because the father of the deceased has a car, therefore the deceased boy knew basic rolling up and down of car glass.
He wondered why the deceased refused to roll down the car galss.
