Qatar Airways, one of the leading airlines in the Middle East will soon begin Operations to and from Accra, the Minister for Foreign Affairs has hinted.
In a speech read on her behalf by the Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzie, at a meeting between a Qatari Technical Team and Ghanaian officials at the Accra International Conference Centre, the Foreign Affairs Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, indicated that “since the establishment of Diplomatic relations between Ghana and Qatar, there have been exchanges of high-level visits especially that of former President John Mahama in 2014, the visit of President Akufo-Addo in November 2017 and the State visit of the Emir of Qatar in December 2017”.
These visits she observed has afforded both countries the opportunity to review the state of bilateral corporation in various fields such as trade, sports, aviation and youth empowerment.
“I am aware that in the area of aviation, concrete progress has been made and it will not be too long when Qatar Airways will start operating passage flights to and from Accra” the Minister said.
At the technical meeting between the Qatar delegation and their Ghanaian counterparts, they will break into parallel technical sessions.
They will give due considerations to the foregoing maters and come out with a roadmap towards the fulfillment of same to the benefit of both countries.
