Three children have been crashed by a Toyota Corolla with registration Number GC 210-10 at Aburi in the Eastern Region.
One of the Victims identified as Prince Okata Ntow, a three (3) year old boy has however been confirmed dead while the two others, Richmond Amoako Okine, 4, and Ransford Baah,5, sustained injuries hence were rushed to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital.
The 24 year old Driver who was in Charge of the Toyota Corrola ,identified as Mendy Agyekum Boateng reported himself to the Police hence detained while the Vehicle has been impounded.
Confirming the accident to Ultimate News, the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said the “accident occurred about 5:10pm Thursday when the driver travelling from Koforidua to Accra on reaching a section of the road at Aburi ‘ Y’ junction, veered off its lane into the offside lane and crashed into a Nissan Almera taxi also with registration Number GR 4069-12 “.
He said the suspect driver who lost total control of the steering wheel further went off the road into an abandoned filling station and knocked down the three (3) children.
ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said, the children sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to Tetteh Quarshie Hospital, Mampong Akwapim for treatment however victim Prince Okata Ntow was pronounced dead on arrival whilst the other two have been treated and discharged.
Body of the deceased has been deposited at the same hospital morgue for autopsy.
