The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has left Ghana to attend the inauguration ceremony of the President-Elect of Liberia, George Weah.
He will return to Ghana on Tuesday January 23, 2018.
The inauguration is scheduled to take place on Monday January 22, 2018, in Monrovia.
The President is accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway; the Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta; Minister for National Security, Albert Kan Dapaah; and officials from the Presidency.
Due to the ill health of the Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Speaker of Parliament Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, in accordance with Article 60(11) of the Constitution, will act as President.
Dr Bawumia is currently receiving medical attention in the United Kingdom.
