Fifteen shops and eleven vehicles have been destroyed by fire at Suame Magazine near Akwasi Oppong road in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region.
Billions of properties were destroyed following the fire which started around 10:30pm on Saturday January 20, 2018.
The items destroyed included 8 Benz bus, 2 sprinter cars, 1 Pregio vehicle, provision stores and spare parts shops.
The Assembly Man for Tafo-Nhyiaeso Electoral area Bashiru Mohammed alias Gambo speaking to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo said the situation would have been different if the fire service personnel didn’t arrive the scene on time.
According to him, the fire was caused by burning of rubbish in the place.
Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has not been able to ascertain the cause of fire as investigations continue.
