Asantehemaa’s final funeral: Manhyia awards EIB’s Abusua FM, Unibank, et al

A heartfelt award ceremony has been held in the Manhyia Palace in honour of security service personnel, government institutions, schools and private organizations for their contribution towards the successful organization of the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa Nana Afia Serwaa Kobi Ampem II.

According to Otumfuo, the security personnel including the cadet corps deployed to the funeral provided excellent security which made their presence felt at the week-long funeral.

Addressing the awardees at a cadet parade held in the Manhyia Palace, Otumfuo also commended the media for their uninterrupted coverage on radio and television.

Ultimate FM’s Isaac Bediako reported that one of the media outlets of Ghana’s largest media network, Excellence In Broadcasting (EIB), Abusua FM received citation for its contribution.

Unibank, one of the HODA companies also received citation. Other banks include: ADB and NIB.

Prisons service, police service, military, fire service, National Road Safety Commission (NRSC), Ghana Health Service (GHS) and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) were all awarded.

Some of the media houses which were also awarded for their coverage include: Multimedia (Adom), UTV and TV3.

The Host of Abusua 96.5FM Kwame Adinkra and Nana Agyei Sika Pa of Peace FM received citations for their special contributions towards the funeral.

Schools such as OKESS, T.I Amass, KTI, Serwaa Nyarko SHS, Prempeh College, Opoku Ware Senior High school (OWASS), Adventist Senior High and others were all awarded.
