Update :Police officer ,bullion Van Driver dead in head on Collision at Kwahu South District

A Police officer and a driver in a Ghana Commercial Bank Bullion Van have died in a deadly head on collision at Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region .15 out of 25 passengers who sustained serious injuries are have been discharged some have however been referred advanced treatment at Kole -Bu in Accra.

According to the Eastern Regional MTTD Commander ,ACP Cephas Coffie tells Ghone News,the accident occurred Wednesday at about 9 : 45am when a Ghana Commercial Bank Nissan Pick-Up Bullion Van vehicle, with registration Number GN 8556-15 driven by Paul Koranteng, about 43 years, together with three other persons on board including two Police personnel from Nkawkaw namely,Nathaniel Afriyie Marfo and No. Frederick Addai on Special duty from Nkawkaw to Donkorkrom.

He said, on reaching a section of Kwahu Tafo – Adawso road the vehicle veered from its lane into the opposite lane and got involved in a head-on collision with the Mercedes Benz bus with registration Number GT 724 F driven by a driver yet to be identified.

Passengers on board both vehicles sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Kwahu Government Hospital, at Atibie for medical treatment. However G/Cpl. Nathaniel Afriyie Marfo together with the GCB Driver Paul Koranteng were pronounced dead on arrival by the Medical Doctor .

Their bodies have since been deposited at the same Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
