The Government has declared Friday December 1, 2017 as a public holiday.
A statement issued by the Interior Minister Ambrose Dery, it said, ‘The General Public is hereby reminded that Friday, December 1, 2017, which marks FARMERS DAY, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country’.
The national farmers’ day celebration will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, whiles similar celebrations will also be held in the other nine regions.
The day coincides with the week-long final funeral rites of the Asantehemaa Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.
