The Ghanaian Economy that was solely dependent on the Production of raw materials for export is a thing of the past, instead, the new Economy is one that will focus on the production and processing of raw materials into finished products for export, President Akufo-Addo has articulated.
Addressing attendees of a State dinner organized in honour of the her Majesty, the Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II at the Banquet Hall of the State House, President Akufo-Addo said Ghana no longer wants to be dependent for its economic life on the production and export of raw materials.
The President added that there cannot be future prosperity for the people of Ghana in the short, medium or long term if the country continues to maintain economic structures that are dependent on the production and export of raw materials.
Ghana, Denmark Cooperation
The President observed that Ghana and Denmark have a rich diplomatic and economic relationship that is currently moving from the status of a Development Cooperation to Trade, Investment and Political cooperation.
This transformation the President believes is the sure way to guarantee mutually beneficial engagement between Ghana and Denmark.
Her Majesty’s Remarks
Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II in her remarks expressed her sincere appreciation for the invitation to visit Ghana.
She assured the President and for that matter the people of Ghana that she and her delegation are poised to agree on and accelerate all forms of cooperation between her country and Ghana.
