The Eastern Regional Police Command has confirmed six (6), the death toll in a renewed clashes between farmers and Fulani nomads at Kwahu East District of the Eastern region.
One person had early this month been gunned down at Dwerebease by his assailant suspected to be Fulani herdsman.
According to the Public Relations officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, the six persons were killed in separate incidents between October 22 to 26, 2017.
According to the PRO, the Police is yet to make arrest meanwhile, the Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Afeku, the Regional Crime officer and the Kwahu East district security Council held a stakeholders meeting on the incident at Abetifi to seize fire.
The Member of Parliament for the area who also doubles as Deputy Minister of State at the Office of the President is livid over the incident.
He is reported to have incited the people against the herdsmen while challenging the security to deal with the perpetrators.
