One of the tax Collectors of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has been sacked by the Mayor Osei Assibey-Antwi following the shut down of fifteen (15) shops at the Central Market.
Scores of aggrieved traders whose stalls were shut down by tax Collectors of KMA this morning besieged the premises of KMA as they protest to demand the unlock of their stalls.
The traders expressed worried about how KMA tax collectors maltreat them when they visit to collect ticket fee.
The traders gave the mayor videos and pictures as an evidence to support their allegation.
Mr Osei Assibey Antwi ordered the tax collector to step aside for investigation.
He therefore urged the tax collectors to unlock the stalls for the traders to continue their work.
“I don’t like the way you stormed the premises of KMA today. If you have issues, let your leaders to come to my office for us to settle the issues. I have ordered unlock of your stalls but I will meet your leaders to settle this issue. The tax collectors you told me he always maltreat you, I have told him to step aside for investigation. Pay 1 cedi ticket fee for the mean time” he told the traders.
