Scores of aggrieved traders whose stalls were shut down by tax Collectors of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) have besieged the premises of KMA as they protest to demand the unlock of their stalls.
It will be recalled that tax Collectors of the KMA closed down fifteen (15) shops at the Central Market on Thursday.
An investigation conducted by Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo revealed that the stalls were closed down after the traders failed to pay GHC2 ticket fee.
The traders speaking to Osei Kwadwo when they besieged the premises of KMA said there is no way they can afford to pay a daily fee of 2 cedis to KMA.
They have therefore given KMA twelve (12) hour- ultimatum to reopen their stalls else KMA will face their wrath.
“We will take the law into our own hands and open the stalls if KMA fails to unlock them. We won’t pay the 2 cedis ticket neither today nor tomorrow.
‘Paying GHC2 ticket fee to KMA will affect the growth of our business,” they said.
