Students of the Kwadaso Agriculture Training College in Kumasi have abandoned the school over government’s failure to restore their allowances.
According to the angered agricultural extension officer trainees, President Nana Akufo-Addo has failed in his promise to restore allowances scrapped under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration.
Government gave some assurances last week when the students picketed at the ministry of Food and Agriculture.
A visit by Ultimate News to the school revealed empty classes and dormitories with a few students loitering around their farms.
A student of the school Anafo Emmanuel who spoke to Ultimate News’ Isaac Justice Bediako said they are unable to pay their fees as well as purchase basic items that will aide their studies.
They described as ‘unfair treatment’ by the Akufo-Ado’s government to leave them out of the monies sharing.
