English Championship side Birmingham City have submitted a bid of £7.2m for the services of Ghanaian international Afriyie Acquah according to Sky Sport Italia.
The 25-year-old has long been linked with a move to the ‘Blues’ throughout the transfer window.
According to reports, Acquah has given the green light for the transfer and declares his readiness to join the Championship side from Torino.
Birmingham, coached by former Tottenham Hotspurs trainer Harry Rednapp is keen to bolster his squad after losing Benjamin Moukandjo to Chinese club Jiangsu Suning and Agyemang Badu to Turkish topflight club Bursaspor.
Torino are lining up Bologna’s Godfred Donsah and Juventus midfielder Tomas Rincon as a possible replacement for the Ghanaian international.
Aquah joined Palermo youth academy in 2010 and has since gone on to play for Parma, Hoffenheim and Sampdoria before completing a €3.1m switch to Torino in 2015.
Newcastle United is also believed to have joined the race in securing the services of the midfield enforcer.
