The Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri-Boahen has described the press conference organised by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) as much ado about nothing.
He called on Ghanaians to ignore NDC members whom he described as ‘frustration driven politicians’.
‘(The press conference was) hollow, baseless and much ado about nothing. For goodness sake, we have a lot of problems confronting us as Ghanaians and we must discuss these issues holistically and let’s stop wasting our time on these frustration driven politicians,” he told Bernard Nasara Saibu on Starr Today.
Addressing Journalists on Thursday July 20, 2017 following the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s six months in office, Mr Portuphy accused the government of engaging in pomp and pageantry banquets at the expense of tax payers.
He accused the Akufo-Addo’s government of making ‘unnecessary spending on suits, neckties and other materialistic things’.
The NDC National Chairman said the government has failed to protect the public purse ‘there is moral and spiritual corruption in the country’.
He said the media encounter exposed the President arguing that he ‘is not on top of issues’.
