The National Media Commission (NMC) has instructed three TV stations from viewing pornographic materials.
NMC explained that the content did not meet the standards of decency as required by the Broadcasting Standards of the Commission hence the decision to block the stations from further airing of such materials.
“Actual sexual intercourse between humans should at no time be transmitted,’ the Chairman of the NMC Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng said in a statement.
The directive comes on the back of a petition sent to NMC by James Oberko and Tommy Annan Forson.
The embattled stations TV XYZ, Ice TV and Thunder TV were asked to apologise and asked to ensure that they desist from showing pornographic materials.
The three stations called on NMC to also order radio and TV stations showing similar offensive content.
