Ghanaian international, Mubarak Wakaso, has demanded for his contract with Greece giant Panathinaikos be terminated after the club failed to meet series of promises to the former Villarreal midfielder.
The 26-year-old signed for the Shamrock’s in December after previously playing on loan at Celtic, Rubin Kazan and Las Palmas.
Wakaso was shipped out from his parent club after signing a 3-year deal and had to spend the rest of last season with Spanish outfit Granada, where he had limited playing time.
The former Espanyol prodigy is fuming and is ready to cancel his contract with the Greens oblivious of the remaining two years left due to broken promises.
“Before I joined them [Panathinaikos], I spoke to Mike [Michael Essien] who told me the club was having some financial problems,” Wakaso is quoted by FMG
“But the club officials assured me I will have all what is due me paid and that is why I signed for them.
“Initially things were okay until they started skipping payment of my salary and then I had to start paying my own rent when it was the club that was supposed to pay.
“It was becoming too much and that is why I had to leave on loan and I don’t think I will go back.
“The contract will be terminated and I will be joining a new club soon.”
