Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Ibrahim Saani Daara has opined that the GFA will be vindicated in its decision to appoint two deputy coaches for Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah.
Former Ghana Internationals Ibrahim Tanko and Maxwell Konadu were named assistant coach one and two respectively.
Some have questioned the rationale for having two assistant coaches when the country has always used one but Saani Daara asserts that the immense experience of Ibrahim Tanko and Maxwell Konadu will aid Kwesi Appiah in achieving the targets set for national team.
“There is wisdom in the decision to appoint two deputy coaches for the Black Stars. The Local Black Stars are also training in Prampram. Imagine the situation if it was one person, what would it have mean? Local Black Stars wouldn’t have a coach,” Mr Saani said.
“The reasoning is that we will have someone who will be the coach. So as it stands now the local team will have its own technical team ahead of the Egypt trip,” he added.
Maxwell Konadu on Wednesday led the Local Black Stars to defeat Gambia by 2-1 in a friendly encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.
