The Inspector General of Police (IGP) David Asante-Apeatu has warned the general public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands by attacking security personnel and destroying properties belonging to the police service.
The IGP speaking at the commissioning of Ahwiaa Police Station and Health Centre in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region warned that any person who will attack or aid the attack of any police facility will face the laws of this country.
He urged Ghanaians to endeavour to end lawlessness and promote community peace and safety to strength Ghana’s democracy.
“Over the years, the police administration has witnessed reckless attack on some police station and sometimes we cannot understand the motivation behind such behaviour. The property of the police is for the State so therefore we must protect them,” he said.
