Three members of Delta Force on Monday voluntarily reported themselves to the Ashanti regional police command following their alleged assault on the newly appointed Regional Security Coordinator George Adjei.
They include: Abubakar Sadiq Abdul Hameed, Jamil Issah and Hamza Mohammed.
Two others who have also been arrested by the police include Awal Sadat Abubakar and Kwadwo Fosu.
The five suspects have been charged with conspiracy to assault and assaulting a public officer and causing unlawful damages.
In a statement signed by the regional public relations officer Yaw Nketiah-Yeboah, it entreated other members of the group who have gone into hiding to report themselves.
The regional security coordinator was on Friday assaulted by Delta Force, a vigilante group of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The group protested against his appointment arguing that he is ‘an outsider’ and that one of their leaders should be appointed to occupy that position.
Windows and doors of offices at the Regional Security Coordinating Council (RCC) in Kumasi were smashed by the aggrieved group.
