While Ghanaians celebrated its 60th independence day at the Independence square, Accra, a primary school in Swindon in the south of England also celebrated it in a special way.
The pupils of Nythe primary school who have been educated about Ghana did a presentation on Swindon 105.5FM, a local radio station about the Ghanaian culture and history.
The head teacher of the school, who wished Ghanaians the best of celebration said ‘the Nythe primary school in Swindon, we have been celebrating independence day with Ghana, and we are sending you messages of peace, love and harmony. The children in the school have been learning so much about Ghana, we have all learnt the things we never knew, something that has been very interesting, the meaning attributed to colours, and the meaning of your strong flag, painting and they have being learning about stories your children are learning in Ghana, and they have been presenting news report on what is happening live in Ghana, we have been celebrating with you, and we are absolutely delighted to do that, peace and love to everybody in Ghana, have a wonderful celebration’
