The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central constituency Inusah Fuseini has vowed to take action against the ad hoc committee investigating bribery allegations against some members of the Appointments Committee and Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko if it fails to produce its report by Friday March 10, 2017.
The 4 weeks timeline given to the committee elapsed last week.
However, GhOne News sources within the committee say the report is not ready.
Speaking to GhOne News, the Tamale Central lawmaker said the committee should have returned to the house for extension of the timeline if it was unable to complete its work within the stipulated time.
Meanwhile, leadership of parliament has assured that the report will be ready latest by next week.
But addressing journalists, both Majority and Minority leaders; Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu and Haruna Iddrisu assured that the committee’s report will be ready soon.
The MP for Bawku central constituency Mahama Ayariga accused the chairman of the Appointments Committee Joe Osei-Owusu of offering bribes to the minority through the chief whip Alhaji Mubarak Muntaka prior to the approval of the energy minister after his vetting.
But appearing before the ad hoc committee chaired by the MP for Essikado-Ketan constituency Joe Ghartey, both Mr Osei-Owusu and Alhaji Muntaka debunked the claims.
Mr Ayariga said he had no proof but heard the rumour.
