State Prosecutors has indicted Daniel Asiedu and his accomplice Vincent Bosso for the murder of the late New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa north J.B Danquah to stand trial at the high court.
The Prosecutors on Thursday presented their Bill of Indictment to the District Court presided over by his worship, Steven Owusu hearing the committal proceedings of Daniel Aseidu.
Vincent Bosso, the second suspect in the murder trial has also been served with a bill of indictment to stand trial as an accomplice in the murder of the late law maker.
EIB’s Wilberforce Asare reported that the indictment proceedings could not take place due to the absence of lead counsel for the accused, Augustine Obour.
The court was thus forced to adjourn proceedings to March 15, 2017 at the request of the Director of Public Prosecution, Mrs. Yvonne Attakorah Obuobi on which day the proceedings will take place.
Background
The 50-year-old MP was attacked by an assailant at his residence at Shiashie, near the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange in Accra, in the early hours of February 6, 2016.
He was stabbed multiple times during the attack about 1:45 a.m.
The killer used a ladder to scale the wall to get into the MP’s bedroom.
There were bloodstains on the walls and footprints, which were believed to be that of the attacker.
