The Minister-designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba has finally been approved by Parliament.

Madam Otiko whose approval was in the balance secured more than 50% votes cast comprising 152 majority members voting in her favour.

The Minority refused to participate in the voting arguing that she refused to apologise to the former President John Dramani Mahama and that she did not do her national service in 2009 after completing University of Development Studies (UDS).
