The Mamponghemaa Nana Agyakoma Difie has indicated that chiefs and queen mothers of Asante extraction as well as Asante royals would have served the newly appointed Asantehemaa Nana Ama Konadu even if she were two-years.

She stated that there is no way they would have disrespected the queen mother if the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II had chosen a ‘small girl’ as a queen mother.

She pledged that the fourteenth queen mother will be accorded the needed royal treatment she deserves adding that the age is not a problem to the various queen mothers.

Eulogising the Asantehemaa on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkra, she described her as a humble person who possesses motherly love and knows the nitty-gritty of tradition saying Otumfuo II couldn’t have made a better choice.

‘I wasn’t surprised about the appointment of the new Asantehemaa, its all about respecting the dictates of tradition. Some of the Asante stools require an elderly person to be a queen mother just like Asantehemaa. The responsibility of an Asantehemaa is a huge one because she rules over 70 chiefs and queen mothers. I am not surprised she has been appointed. She possesses the qualities of her late mother Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II. We are happy about her appointment. Even if Otumfuo II had chosen a two year-old person, we would have served her. We are ready to serve her with all our hearts whether rain or shine,’ she promised.
