The Sissala Youth Forum (SYF) at the close of its annual conference has among other things, resolved to put in place measures to stop the youth in the various communities from indulging in illicit acts such as gambling, child abuse, teenage pregnancy and drug abuse.
In a 10-point communiqué issued and signed by its Secretary Gbene Sakibu Fuseini, the association blamed the above for the low standard of education in the area and expressed its readiness to partner various stakeholders in curbing the situation.
Prominent among other issued the association talked about at the conference was to scale up advocacy in reducing the high incidence of teenage pregnancies involving Senior High School students in the area.
Full Details of the Communiqué Below:
At the end of the 2016 Annual Conference of the Sissala Youth Forum, the following Resolutions were made;
1. To ensure Peace, Unity and Development in the Sissala land by moving away from religious and political inclinations
2. To fully support the Mother Union (Sissala Union) in diverse ways to improve the poor performance of education in the entire Sissala land
3. To passionately support The Sissala Educational Development Fund (SEDEF) either in kind or in cash to help it’s realized its dream.
4. To collectively work in hand with Ghana Private Road T RANSPORT UNION (G.P.R.T.U) Stakeholders to reduce the intake of passengers per car and the prices accordingly, especially Tumu-Wa, Tumu-Bolgatanga for oval cars.
5. To increase the rate of advocacy in pressing home our demands more importantly by improving on our road network significantly.
6. To use proactive measures to increase female education and reduce teenage pregnancies and other human abuse cases
7. To support all stakeholders to help introduce the Sissali language in to the educational curriculum.
8. To put in place measures to stop the youth in the various communities from indulging in illicit acts such as gambling, child abuse, teenage pregnancy and drug abuse.
9. To put pressure on our leaders and stakeholders to as much as possible be responsible, accountable and transparent to get our desired share of the national cake
10. To ensure that our leaders in governance subsidized agricultural inputs for our farmers in the Sissala land.
