 Mr. Yaw Osafo Marfo who is leading the incoming government transition team has hinted that they  will do more than merely looking at handing over notes from the ministries, departments and agencies.

He revealed that in event of uncertainties, the team will be compelled to move to state institutions captured in the notes to do further probing in order to unearth truth behind the  issues that may be unclear to them.

Contents of handing over notes from some government ministries will be at the centre of scrutiny at the Presidential Transition meeting today, Monday in the wake of allegations of the sale of some government property, award of new contracts and recruitment of military personnel.

But Mr Yaw Osafo Marfo on Abusua Nkomo, is hopeful the government team will make due its promise of bringing the rest of the handing over notes today in order to facilitate the early scrutiny of the notes before the investiture on January 7.

“We will thoroughly look into all the documents and where there are doubts we may decide to go into the particular ministry or agency and question some persons for clarity. We will do due diligence in scrutinizing the documents’ he stated.

According to him, he was not in the position to state if the government team is transparent in its dealings with them or not but said this will only be known after they go through the handing over notes adding that documents about the Finance Ministry he described as most important were only received on Saturday.

The transition process is aimed at ensuring the smooth handing over of power from one administration to the next. The process is guided by the Presidential Transition Act 2012 (Act 845).
